Sitka xoxo

On Monday morning Sitka passed from this side of our world to the other side. But she had a great ride while she lived with us and she made our lives so much richer.

My very first blog post was about Sitka and our decision to take her to Mexico with us. I wrote about her many times after that. My favorite post was from last September. I just reread it and it made me smile.

To Sitka: See ya at the Rainbow Bridge, my little monkey. xo

Those of us who knew her, loved her. As we love the two of you.

Sorry to hear the loss of a family member. Animals are a true gift that allow humans to be appreciative of true companions.

Just got your email, thanks for sending it.
We are so sorry to hear about Sitka; but I am sure that she is more comfortable now and pain free.
It is so hard for us when we lose a member of our family. Remember her with love and smiles. You have many memories.
Take care. Thinking of you guys.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when she disappeared (twice) and you got her back. She was a great dog.

So sorry to see Sitka leave. Glad to hear you say that she had a great ride while with you and your husband. My thoughts are with you. I am sure she is with her momma now and looking down and sending her love. Take care.

Steve - We love hearing your stories about Prof Jiggs. Dogs make our lives fuller with their love and devotion. Thank you.

Tancho - Companions indeed. Sitka was by my side through thick and thin and she never complained. Thank you for your thoughts.

Brenda - I had to re-read your post about your own German shepherd, Brandy. They are such magnificent creatures. Thank you.

Theresa - Yes, Sitka was a great dog. Please give Mr. Dog a pat for us. Thank you.

Linda Lou - Memories help a lot. Mike and I have spent the past 3 days reminiscing and looking at pictures of Sitka. And you are so right. Sitka will never be lost again. Thank you.

Gloria - It's hard to believe that Mike and I ever even considered leaving Sitka behind when we moved to Mexico. Thank goodness we came to our senses and she got to be part of the adventure. I know you keep a picture of your Chorizo on your blog - I think I'll do the same for Sitka. Thank you.

I'm glad Steve shared your story on his blog. My sympathies to you on your loss. Prof. Jiggs and our Foster were neighbors, and we let Foster go in March. It's a blessing to have shared a life with a critter who brought joy and love to so many people.

hi cynthia,

i don't understand what's happening. seems like your computer just won't accept e-mails from mine. can't help but wonder why. i wrote right after we talked and then later got your e-mail saying you hadn't received mine. maybe we'll just have to talk on the phone more often. see you wed.

it was great getting together. i really like how you decorated the place-glad you liked the little items i brought. cynthia, i enjoyed our walk on the trail-it felt so good to be out in the sun. it was about time we got some hot weather. i saw on a reader board on the way home that it was 90. at least it's not as humid as the east coast but this heat will prepare me for it. thank you so much for the delicious lunch mike-i will have to make shrimp louie some time-i know steve will love it.

hope to see you again in the not too distant future.

nothing went through, not even on mike's e-mail. i thought about calling you but it's too early and i'll probably forget later since i'm so busy planning for my trip. i'll give you a call when i get back and maybe we can set up a
date for you and mike to visit.

take care and try to stay cool.

yup-nothing at all has gone through on either of your accounts.

i'm not having trouble with any others though. i've been e-mailing my sister-in-law all morning and getting replies from her and others as well, so i don't think it's a problem with netscape. if this continues to happen, i'll call them when i get back just to be sure. no time to deal with that today because as you know, you can be on the phone for a long time with those companies.

feel free to delete these e-mails if you like.
